WHAT IS "BTMM"?
Balance Through Movement Method⢠(BTMM) is a set of principles designed to help horses achieve whole-horse balance, soundness, and self-carriage through correct biomechanics and nervous system development. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, BTMM seeks to identify and address the compensatory patterns that can contribute to poor performance, behavioral issues, discomfort, and lameness. Through biomechanics education, proprioceptive exercises, nervous system regulation, and mindful horsemanship, horses learn to develop strength, balance, and structural integrity from the inside out. BTMM is used across disciplines and experience levelsâfrom competitive performance horses to beloved trail horses and backyard companionsâand is recognized worldwide for rehabilitation, development, diagnostics, and long-term soundness.
ABOUT HEATHER KORNEMANN
Heather Kornemann is a lifelong cowboy and horsewoman who actively works cattle for 5 Dot Land & Livestock and X Bar 7 Ranch. In 2024, she was voted Top Professional Stockman within the Early California Skills of the Rancho program, where she studies and trains in the art of the Vaquero Bridlehorse. Heather is also a certified Balance Through Movement Method (BTMM) instructor specializing in Nerve Release. Her work focuses on developing the whole horseâbody, mind, and spiritâwhile helping owners better understand biomechanics, soundness, emotional regulation, hoof care, and the subtle signs of tension and dysfunction that often show up long before bigger issues arise. Whether your goal is building a stronger foundation, improving performance, addressing physical challenges, or preparing for advanced cattle work, Heather has a unique ability to meet both horse and rider where they are and help uncover the missing pieces that lead to lifelong soundness and a deeper partnership.
