WHO WE ARE

Preserving equestrian tradition in Truckee, California for over 60 years!

Truckee Donner Horsemen "TDH" is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1962 in Truckee, California whose purpose is to sponsor, cultivate, and foster an interest in horses and horsemanship throughout the Truckee, Donner, and Sierra areas of the State of California.

Truckee offers an incredible array of recreational opportunities, all nestled in the stunning Sierra Mountains. Truckee's rich history began as a rural mountain town with logging, stagecoach stops, and horses.

Truckee Donner Horsemen is committed to preserving, promoting, and expanding that historic heritage. We work diligently to provide a welcoming environment where equestrian enthusiasts and families can enjoy the outdoors together. We host educational clinics, horse shows, trail rides, and community events throughout the year. Our junior riders perform with a summer Drill Team at local Truckee gatherings. Popular annual events include the Truckee Fourth of July Parade, playdays at McIver Arena, our Poker Ride, and overnight horse camping trips. Check our calendar for upcoming events in Truckee and neighboring communities.

Don't own a horse? You're still more than welcome to become a member! We offer opportunities to connect with our equestrian community, learn horsemanship skills, and discover what it takes to explore these stunning Sierra trails on horseback. We strive to promote horsemanship, a healthy equestrian lifestyle, responsible horse ownership, and preservation of Truckee's McIver Arena.

What's McIver Arena?

Located in the heart of Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District,  McIver Arena serves as a vital resource for Truckee Donner Horsemen and the local equestrian community.
