We offer annual horsemanship events for our Junior members!
Our Junior Drill Team practices weekly each summer (June-August), then performs at the Truckee Pro Rodeo as well as other local events.
New for 2026: our TDH Horse Club provides monthly learning sessions on a variety of horse care topics, with no horse ownership required!
Junior Drill Team
Truckee Donner Horseman is proud to host an annual Junior Drill Team comprised of young riders from the Truckee/Tahoe area. The team works together with their horses to practice and perform drill team (quadrille) routines at local events in Truckee each summer.
~ ANNOUNCMENT! ~
We are currently is seeking 8-10 participants for our 2026 TDH Junior Drill Team (ages 10-19). The Drill Team will practice weekly (June - August) and perform at the Truckee Professional Rodeo on Friday & Saturday, August 28th & 29th, 2026!
An Informational Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at McIver Arena @ 5:30pm for riders & parent/guardians to learn more.
Interested junior riders should respond by submitting the Inquiry Form by Friday, May 15th, 2026:
A rider & horse Skills Assessment will be conducted on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 at McIver Arena in Truckee, CA. Drill Team practices will be held weekly on Tuesdays at McIver Area, starting on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026.

TDH Horse Club

Our TDH Horse Club provides learning sessions on a variety of horse care topics, with no horse ownership required! Our club gatherings leverage the HorseSense Learning Levels curriculum as well as local equestrian expertise, chosen to support learning on timely topics including basic horse knowledge & care, confidence & safety in riding, and engaging activities that develop a love of horses & community.
