WHO WE ARE
Truckee Donner Horsemen "TDH" is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1962 in Truckee, California whose purpose is to sponsor, cultivate, and foster an interest in horses and horsemanship throughout the Truckee, Donner, and Sierra areas of the State of California.
Truckee offers an astonishing number of recreational opportunities in which to partake, all located in the beauty of the Sierra Mountains. Truckee's rich history began as a rural mountain town with logging, stagecoach stops, and horses. Truckee Donner Horsemen endeavors to preserve, promote, and expand our historic and rich equestrian lifestyle. We offer horse related events, activities, and opportunities for volunteering within the local community. We diligently strive to provide an environment for equestrian enthusiasts and families to enjoy the outdoors.

​We host educational clinics, schooling horse shows, member trail rides, and participate in local events each year. Our Junior riders also participate in a summer Drill Team, with performances at local Truckee events. Opportunities are available with and without a horse - we encourage anyone interested to join in these great family adventures which provide an opportunity to go out on horseback to discover and enjoy some of the amazing terrain our Mountain Community has to offer. Annual favorites include our participation in the Truckee Fourth of July Parade, playdays at McIver Arena, a hosted Poker Ride, overnight horse camping - and so much more! Keep an eye on our Calendar for our events for the season, as well as those in neighboring communities.

The McIver Arena (located in the Truckee Regional Park) is available for open riding daily throughout the summer & fall. See our Calendar for special events which would supersede arena availability for open riding. ​Please use courtesy in the arena. Ride at your own risk - helmets are mandatory for riders less than 18 years of age. If you set up equipment in the arena, please remove from arena when you are finished. Please clean up after yourself and your horse. ​While membership in TDH is not required to use the arena, your support through membership will assist us in our endeavors to maintain and improve the facility. Or feel free to "Donate" to help us reach our goals.

We hold monthly General Meetings and encourage anyone interested in club opportunities to attend (membership not required).
WHEN: typically held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month (see our Calendar for meeting dates, times. & locations)
WHERE: Summer/Fall: typically at McIver Arena; Winter/Spring: via Zoom or at a local indoor location
